Hilton Keeps Clean Sheet for No. 8 Chargers in Win at South Suburban

SOUTH HOLLAND — The eighth-ranked Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team recorded its third clean sheet in the last four games in a 3-0 victory at South Suburban on Wednesday.

Keeper Ben Hilton (West Sussex, England/Crawley Town Academy) stopped all five shots by the Bulldogs (11-4 overall, 8-3 Region IV) — who entered on a four-game win streak and received votes in this week’s NJCAA Division II poll — as the Chargers (10-2 overall, 7-2 Region IV) shut out an opponent for the fifth time this season.

Guylberson Camille (Key West, Fla./Key West) opened the scoring in the 17th minute with an assist from Pedronel Herrera (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Claret), and Camille assisted on Jean Forestal’s (Ocoee, Fla./Ocoee) goal in the 26th minute that sent Sandburg to a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Dave Bernard (Ocoee, Fla./Ocoee) gave the Chargers some insurance early in the second half with a goal off a feed from Santiago Palacio (Cali, Colombia/Colegio La Arboleda).

Sandburg’s defense limited South Suburban’s Nico Williams, who came in leading the country in goals, to just two shots in the contest.
